Did you know 2 million pensioners in the UK live in poverty and worryingly, numbers have started to grow in recent years. (Facts: Ageuk)
The UK is the seventh richest country in the world. It is also a deeply unequal country. When we think of the word ‘hunger’ we often think about starving children in developing countries. But this type of hunger is very much the reality for some people living in the UK today.
The recession has squeezed household budgets, having an impact on the nutritional types of food people are buying. It is also common practice that food banks will limit families to three visits a year.
You can help provide a meal to an elderly person in our local community.
LMOS will be providing a meal every week to those in need to ease their food worries. This is a service paid for by LMOS by the donations received.
Together we can help local families by taking away their food worries.
